A baby's mind

Ever wonder what a baby is thinking when he/she is looking at something? Sometimes gazing for minutes at a time? I often get curious as to what is in that little mind of theirs and what captures them so. I know that development certainly does play a part in it, but I also think that something inside them is attracted to a certain object or person or thing. And for a moment it is almost as if their personality shines through.

For instance, I noticed that Arya is fascinated by faces, especially babies or kids. He also loves toys with a lot of contrasting eyes and features. It brings a smile to his face. Loud noises and an interruption to his current thought process brings on a frown. One that brings me to tears sometimes. And I twice heard his cry when he was afraid. Once in a dream and once by my dog's bark. I am not a psychologist, but as a mom all I can tell is he is one with a lot of feeling. A sensitivity that he carries deep. Hopefully it will be beneficial to him in the future.
