Standing Innovation

For the past few weeks Arya has been desperately interested in lifting himself up and trying to stand. He sort of bypassed the crawling on his knees somehow and doesn't really care about it as long as he can get himself from point A to point B.
I find it so cute when I put him on the floor with all his toys and rather than play he wants to find the highest object (even if it's me) and climb up it. Amazing how God works and creates his creatures. If only we could remember ourselves when we were 6 months old and how much joy we brought others around us who were enjoying our company and giggling with us. I would cherish those memories forever. This generation is lucky...with digital photos and video...they can go back to the very day they were born and see it all again!

Arya has also found a passion for WATER. In any way you give it to him, he gets so excited for it. Under the faucet, in a cup, in a bottle, on TV! Here you can see him holding his own cup with water in it. Too bad gravity couldn't work upwards.

Co-Sleeping with Arya

24wks_12.12.08.3
I thought I'd talk about a topic that hasn't yet been discussed : co-sleeping. We started Arya in a bassinet and then found out that he didn't like it anymore. So we tried to have him sleep between us at night. That worked for him but as much as we love to snuggle with him, it's a bit difficult for us in our utterly small queen size bed. Then we decided to put him in the bassinet again but found he could roll off it. So back to our bed it was. Some nights I cannot feel my arm and Ali has kinks in his neck and back at times due to the positions we must get used to. After really feeling the suffering we decided to bring the pack and play and use it for him. That worked for 1 night and 1 night only. Then back to our bed again. Now it has come to the point that he wakes us up by head bunting our faces with his head. Ouch! I got it in the chin and nose and Ali has gotten it everywhere else. So with this said, Feb 1st, Arya is going to move into his own room and crib. We will stay with him a few nights to get him accustomed to it. But we have to move on and he is growing anyway. Hope it will work. And maybe we can all finally get some sleep again !!!!!

6 month and 2 weeks

Well Arya had his 6 month appointment today and the last of the vaccine series for his age. It was a bit tough today because for the first time he was aware of his surroundings and could sit and realize what was going on. He was not happy AT ALL. The doctor whom he would smile at was now the DEVIL and the nurses were his DEMONS! Arya cried a LOT and turned purple when the doctor was examining him today and was afraid of everyone around him. The moment anyone came near he would frown and start to cry. I felt so aweful. I just hugged him to make him feel better, but it seems like he was just not happy to be there at all. I hope next time it won't be this bad.

Happy New Year !

The New Year has come. We are entering Arya's 28th week now and he will soon have his 6 month check up. So far his latest new thing is to try and stand by himself. He just loves to crawl towards something that will help him do just that. His crawl is not fully a crawl yet but it is a start. He can get himself from point A to point B but with a bit of a struggle. He is also learning to gripe a lot. When he is not getting attention or when he wants something it is always followed by a loud "aaaa".
We also got him a new carseat, the convertable kind to see if it will solve the carseat blues. So far it has not transitioned yet, but I can see some changes. He is noticing that it is a lot more comfortable as well. Cross your fingers for us if this works it will be such a blessing. With this said, I wish you all the best new year with all the health and happiness! Here are some pics...
