Welcoming 3 Months

It has finally come! I have been waiting for Arya to turn 3 months forever! And now it is finally here. September 29th. Today he learned to turn over by himself from crawling to his side and he can stand and sort of start move walking hehehhe. That was interesting. Here are a few pictures of him to start out the beautiful day.

A baby's mind

Ever wonder what a baby is thinking when he/she is looking at something? Sometimes gazing for minutes at a time? I often get curious as to what is in that little mind of theirs and what captures them so. I know that development certainly does play a part in it, but I also think that something inside them is attracted to a certain object or person or thing. And for a moment it is almost as if their personality shines through.

For instance, I noticed that Arya is fascinated by faces, especially babies or kids. He also loves toys with a lot of contrasting eyes and features. It brings a smile to his face. Loud noises and an interruption to his current thought process brings on a frown. One that brings me to tears sometimes. And I twice heard his cry when he was afraid. Once in a dream and once by my dog's bark. I am not a psychologist, but as a mom all I can tell is he is one with a lot of feeling. A sensitivity that he carries deep. Hopefully it will be beneficial to him in the future.

Being sick and at home - week 13

This week was no fun since we were all sick and I was extra worried for Arya and his cough and sleeping at night. Luckily there were no major issues and he is almost better now. I guess the only thing we can do is just take care of them and do our best to make the time pass by with fun and smiles. We have been practicing word games and other activites to keep him challenged. So far he likes to repeat when we say "Aghah" and he likes to immitate our lips. It's neat :) I wish I could record it when he does it but it's random.

Here is a picture of us this morning as we begin the day.

Having fun with Mr. Birdie.

Arya's 1st Cold - End of week 12

I didn't think it would happen till later, but for some reason I ended up getting sick and tried so hard for Arya not to catch it - even washed my hands religiously, but still, the little bug got in my baby. Luckily this is a very mild cold and there is no fever. But it still has its share of runny nose, sore throat and cough which I absolutely hate.

We are trying to make the best of it. Even with Arya a bit fussy at times, we are enjoying the day and doing what we can to ignore this yucky feeling until it passes us by. Ali barely got it too, but he is loaded up on medication, and his is like non-existent, unlike us.

Here are a few pics from today :)

Week 12 - More Sitting & Tummy Time

This week I'm trying to get Arya to sit more and spend more time on his tummy. I feel bad making him play with only a couple toys while he lays on his back, so I feel that it's time to be more interactive with him and get him to do more big boy stuff.

Here is a picture of him on his tummy playing with this bear he really loves. And another one of him sitting but bored so he is playing with his hands. :)
I have to say some of these toy inventions are amazing. They really get babies attention.

We are also trying very hard to get him to like the crib or his bassinet. However unsuccessful in the evening, I am trying it more in the day time so that he can become more familiar with it and like it...as for now he is chumming up between us in our ever so small queen bed :)

One other thing new that's started last week is the drooling. It is getting more and more lately...I know it's sloppy, but I have to say, I love it :)

Holding bottle with one hand

When he's hungry, boy is he hungry and even willing to hold the bottle by himself!
We were both amazed when we saw this...thank goodness I had the camera handy! :)

Weeks 10 - 11

Week 10 flew by and now on week 11, Arya is becoming more and more familiar with his surroundings. He especially likes pictures, lights and big red, yellow objects.
We have also managed to get him like being in the carseat by attaching his red birdie on top. He smiles all the way from point A to point B.

He loves this picture so much...

In the carseat

On a typical day I wake up, feed him, go downstairs and he plays on his toy while I get breakfast ready. Then we go together outside and look at the flowers and the trees while Sasha plays in the grass. Then back inside for more playing and eating and a mid morning nap in his swing. After waking & eating again time to play some more. Generally the cycle goes sleep - wake - get changed - eat - play - get changed again - repeat.

Here is one with him after the birdie again at tummy time

The 3 of Us

It has been a lot of fun these past few days and for another week that Ali will be home. He will be starting his new job on the 15th so that gives him a lot of time to be with us and make up for the lost days with Arya. I'm so pleased to note that Arya has truly enjoyed being with him as well and they have bonded extremely to the point that he cries when Ali puts him down. And I can hand him over when he's in his fussy moments. Here are a couple pictures of us at Kami & Tina's House. This is the first time Arya has been there. He was a pretty good boy, thank goodness. :)

Keeping Busy

We've been keeping busy and Arya is a handful already so sometimes it may take me a while before I get back to writing in the blog. This week Arya has mastered turning his neck from side to side. Even though it's still wobbly he has managed to swing it from one side to the other when he's interested to look at something. He has also become fixated at patterns and objects with dimension. I am not sure what it is but he stares at things for a long time that are this way. Like he is studying it or something.
Here we got him to sit next to me while Ali took his picture. 2 seconds later he was mad but we managed to get him before that!

This is Arya during his morning nap on the swing. He sleeps in here for hours at a time. What a good investment!

While I've been inside with Arya, Ali has been taking care of the yard and trying to work on things that have fallen behind our schedules.
