Spring is in the air and it's time for fun outdoors (if the weather permits). When the weather calls for rain, we have a good time indoors. There's much to do and enjoy!

Eideh Norooz Mobarak 1390!
It was a very sweet and simple Norooz at our home this year. I wish everyone and those they love the very best days and nights that spring will bring along with health, happiness. And in the happiness, I wish a part of it will be success in what they wish for most.

We celebrated with Papa, Nana, my uncle Reza, his wife Susan and son Kevin. Kamran and his family didn't come because Jamil was sick. The weather has been absolutely crazy. It is pouring rain and pretty windy. Our hearts are with those who are not here.

We had the traditional Mahee and sabzee polo that my sweet mom made with all types of trimmings. Papa made nooneh panjerehy which I love and he recorded it for me. I am so happy they did that! I can't believe how much shirini I ate today. I think it's a record! Especially the Red Velvet cake my Amoo brought.

Here's the plate with my dad's pastries. Only 2 left. Wonder how much longer it will last.

Susan holding Arya before his nap. He was so wiggly :)

Arya got a gift (A truck set) from Amoo Reza and his wife

and Eidee from my dad and Ali. He was pretty happy and playing a lot. Before that I made him a little basket with chocolate and small toys. He seemed to have liked the Cars coloring pack with markers, he was up till midnight last night on that thing.

Here are the rest of our pictures. The 3 of us.

Events of the week
This past week we discovered some more places to get learning toys for Arya.
He likes to imitate grown ups when he sees them doing something and also other kids. He especially likes tools so we got him this drill set. It's neat because it has pattern designs that you can drill with different colored bolts.

We also got this race car track that he could watch moving cars race. He is a big fan of race cars these days and this is a little bit different since the cars move themselves rather than he move them.

A night with friends
Arya had some fun with his new friends Noah and Jay. They played with cars, the slide and buzz space station and all kinds of other toys. It was a night of fun and adventure!
Coloring all together on Arya's Elmo table

Playing on the slide

Sitting with Noah - a good friend

Standing with Noah - it was tag time (after this!)

Jay please don't take that out - so cute how he likes his things to stay the way they are supposed to. heheh

Mom's & Nana's Birthday

Sometimes I think about life and how it can somehow be like the dessert. There are trees in some parts, water in other parts and holes in areas where we end up falling in from time to time. At one point we may even get stuck. But eventually somehow some way we will find our way out.

We are blessed by the things we are given and what we have here. There are so many others who wish for only a small part of what we have. And for that I say Thank You. Thank you God for my moments, for my days under a roof and I am not wet and cold somewhere. Thank you for food that I can easily buy at the grocery store and for the clothes that i can wear to keep me warm. I hope and pray that anyone out there without these things can one day have them all and be happy. There are so many blessings that we have.

The above is a picture of Arya and Jamil together. They have been spending more time playing and having fun together. It brings tears of happiness to our eyes.

Arya has been advancing in computers as well. I guess from seeing me on one all day...it's in his blood :)

And not only that...my artistic side has also become a part of him too. He likes to decorate things with stickers. I think if anyone visits, they would say our house is the house of stickers :)

And this was a memorable day...hail (almost snow) it has been so cold lately...
I had to capture it.

Our newest addition to Arya's playthings "The Slide". He loves this. And I think it is awesome to keep him busy and moving rather than sitting. Thanks Mom, Dad, Kami & Tina. We love it.

Snow Trip & Birthday party weekend
Last weekend Arya had some adventure. He got to experience playing in the snow and sledding. He did see snow before but he didn't get a chance to play with it. We went with Kami, Tina & Jamil and Anahita and her friend Hamaseh (I hope I spelled that correctly). It was really fun to see how everyone came down the slope. I wish I could have recorded everyone's faces. It wasn't as bad as I thought...but for Arya's first time doing this I didn't go to the top...just from the middle.
Here are some pictures of our day.

Time to eat

The day after we went to a birthday party for one of Ali's friends. Tony & his wife Patricia were throwing a party for Jay their 1 year old son. I wanted to get his picture and more but didn't get a chance. Maybe next time.
Here are some pics from the party.
